We are HOME....already! I was prepared for the worst and we got the BEST. Brady did amazingly well through the whole process. He knocked this one out of the park. We are so thankful and so proud of him. He is back to himself, playing, eating, drinking and womanizing.
The Doctor said Brady's adenoids were "extremely large" and by removing them the obstructive sleep apnea should be fixed. His tonsils have been 90% removed, creating a much roomier airway. The Doctor also did another bronchoscopy to check his airway and see if there is damage from Brady's chronic reflux. Well, all looked great. His esophagus is in tact and has somehow been spared by the reflux Gods.
Last night Brady slept great. He still snores like an 300lb bear, BUT he didn't obstruct and his SAT level stayed at a 95 or above. In a previous sleep study Brady's SAT (oxygen saturation) dropped to a 53, which is dangerous and extremely unhealthy. The snoring should subside after the swelling and drainage goes away. Until then he won't be having any overnight guests and Jeff and I are investing in some quality ear plugs.
We are thrilled to be home and so relieved that the surgery went so well. This was by far the easiest of our hospital stays. Next up...the balls....March 2010!
